20 month old bedtime taking 2 hours [Edited by MNHQ at OP's request]

DH and I share bedtime. I do bathtime, teeth and then DH takes over for pjs, stories and cuddles in her bed until she falls asleep. Usually she would be up in her room for stories around 6:45 and DH would be down for dinner around 7:30.

Recently DD is taking ages and ages to fall asleep. Last night she wasn't asleep till closer to 9pm and this is becoming really common.

Any tips? Should we try sleep training? Her naps are rubbish and unreliable - partly because she spends 1 day with her grandad, 2 days with childminder and 2 days with me so no routine for day time sleep. Although we can't attribute the recent night sleep issues to this as she's been with us full time for 4 weeks. When she's here with me, she naps between 12 and 2 for appx 45-90 mins.

Any help, please!?

Does he stay with her until she's asleep? We've always put DS in his cot and left him, sometimes we do have to go back in but mostly he goes over on his own.

Yeah he stays and cuddles her to sleep, then sort of rolls her onto her pillow and slips out of the room. It worked a dream for ages but has recently stopped working and we don't know what to do differently! If he leaves the room/her bed she starts screaming/crying straight away.

I would reduce nap times. Mine dropped naps totally shortly after their second birthdays. So it's likely she doesn't need more than say 30 mins during the day?
