Hi all. My DD is in a nighttime routine, and has been for a couple of weeks now (though daytimes are anyones guess!). In the last week or 10 days we have been settling her by swinging the moses basket - whcih seems to work a treat. I dont mind doing this, and it only takes a few minutes and she is off. But, she is a big baby and seems to be fast outgrowing her moses basket and she will need to be in the cot soon. Does anyone have any tips for 'weaning' her off this rocking - or anything that we can substitue for it? At the moment, she will feed, we put her down, rock, leave her, she may cry for a few minutes, so we go back, rock for a minute and she is off again. We normally only do this a couple of times and she is asleep. When we are no longer rocking her - should we get her out of the cot when she cries and rock her? Or should we leave her in the cot and shush her? Or should we leave her and hope she resettles alone? How long is it 'OK' to leave her to cry for at this age? (I realise this ia a matter of opinion, but opinions gratefully received). I half tried swaddling her - and while it works to have her legs restricted, she cant bear it with her arms, and like having them u by her face while she is alseep. Any thoughts/tips/experience very gratefully recieved!
