Anyone's baby unable to suck dummy?

Having trouble getting my baby to sleep and battling with 5 wake ups a night. He is 20 weeks old and VERY sucky and I think a dummy would help him enormously. He is EBF and used to comfort suck to sleep but now he is older he gets angry with the let down.

He is a bottle refuser - took one in the early days but doesn't seem to know what to do with one - moves it around mouth, chews it, lots of spillage etc.

He has never managed to suck a dummy though. He tries but again just seems to move it around his mouth and push it out. Though when I hold it in he seems to like it.

I am not sure if he physically can't get the knack or doesn't like them? He had a tongue tie revision at 5 weeks which sorted BFing.

So in a nutshell - anyone heard of babies not being able to suck a dummy?

We used MAM 0-2 month size. Ds was prem, ebf and took one. Maybe try hold it in for a few seconds?

I used to lightly rub DS’s cheek in a circular motion while holding the dummy in for a few seconds and that would start him off and then he’d suck by himself.

I held it in for 15 minutes today so he would doze off...still can't seem to get the knack. We have tried old school cherries, munchkin latch, tommee tippee soothies and mam so far....
