Most nights my DD who is just over 3 months will wake at 2 or 3am and be wide awake for 1.5 hours. She babbles away for around half an hour and then starts to cry. We always try to settle her, leave her in her crib and shush/pat, no talking or eye contact, leave lights off. Eventually she does settle, after bouncing up and down with her and white noise, but around 90mins later.
In the day she sleeps well, too much maybe. I wonder whether I should wake her during long naps. Yesterday for example this was her schedule:
6.15am awake
7.45-8.30 nap, had to be woken as needed to take eldest to nursery
9.15-10.45 nap
12.30-3 nap
4.45-5.15 nap in car
7.15pm bedtime
8.30 woke for feed (ebf)
10 dream feed
2-3.45am awake, thinks its playtime 🙄
Finally asleep but in bed with us, shuffling constantly and feeding on and off on the boob
6.15 awake
A good night is her waking 2-3 times for bf and her falling back asleep, I can deal with that, just not being up with her for 1.5 hours!
What can I do to adjust her schedules? Is it too early to introduce a routine? Should I wake her from her long naps?
Any advice appreciated greatly xx
