Going to sleep at night- advice

My little one is 2 and a half and has been a pretty good sleeper I can’t complain. However the last 6-8 weeks he has been going to bed at normal time 7.30-40pm and then he doesn’t settle till atleast 8.30pm sometimes 8.40pm. The earliest he’s gone to sleep over this period of time is 8.15pm. He just lays there playing with his dummy sometimes chatting - eventually drifting off doesn’t call out or get upset.

He still has a nap in the day which we have cut to 1pm-2pm (used to be till 2.30) it’s not made much of a difference yet but only just started that.

I was just wondering if this is fairly normal? Or whether it’s An indication of not needing his day nap? Some days I think he could probably power through but some days he gets tired and I think is more than happy to have a lunchtime sleep.

He usually sleeps till 7-7.30am, he never seems too tired, just was worried he wasn’t getting enough sleep at night.

Any advice appreciated :)
