Baby takes forever to sleep!

DS has for the past few months been a great sleeper. But recently (after we started solids so I'm not sure if that has something to do with it) he will not go to sleep at night. He just cries. I've tried everything, patting shhhing, picking him up and rocking him. I calm him down and as soon as I put him in the cot he's crying again.

Once we eventually get him to sleep he does sleep through so at least that's something. But it's taking hours.

The only thing we haven't tried is controlled crying because I really don't want to do that!

I found once we started on solids my little boy was similar to this , I put it down to have trapped wind and a sore tummy getting used to digesting proper food .
It took getting on for 2 months for him to adjust to eating but I did try to help a little
By not feeding veggies at dinner time - I found veg really increased his painful wind
