Hi , my newborn baby is 9 days old , he's on aptamil powder formula sometimes taking 120ml other times taking 30ml etc never the same feed size , and taking an hour to 2 hours to settle after this each feed , it's becoming over tiring , once he is asleep it will sometimes be for 3 hours or so but varies , is there something I could be doing to help this settling ?

Thank you x

Hi @ShannonVine795,

Congratulations on your new baby boy Flowers

We're going to move this thread over to our Sleep topic as we think you'll get some support and advice over there.

In the meantime, do take a look at our webpage on Looking after a newborn baby: parents' most common questions, answered - and this one on Baby sleep advice.

Is he definitely not still hungry? Sometimes babies will take a short break and want to go bi for more milk.

Is he upset when you're trying to settle? It's probably (unfortunately) just normal new baby crying.

What are you doing to help settle?
