Too much daytime sleep?

My 10 week old is still sleeping about 6 or 7 hours or more on and off throughout the day - is this normal? Her nightime sleep is ok ish (for her age!) so I am not worried from that perspective, just wondering why she is so sleepy. her 'awake' times are very few and far between. My DD1 was only sleeping 2 or 3 hours in the day by this point - I just don't know what is normal?! Any thoughts or experience? Thanks

My ds was exactly the same. Literally was asleep more than he was awake for the first 4 months of his life!

I was a bit worried too, as he did seem to be asleep 'too much'! I asked the HV about it and she said just enjoy it while it lasts!

He continues to be a great sleeper. He's 2 next month.

Some babies just like their sleep I think!

HI!

My DD2 is now 19 weeks old and she still sleeps for about 5 hours in about 3-4 naps during day. Night time we are still having to get up for a feed but think it may be due to growth spurt as she slept through out the night before.

I, like you, was worrying as she seemed to pretty much sleep through out the day for the first month or 2 but now I just enjoy the me time!!! (when DD1 is asleep - she is 19 months)

My DS was like this and he still at 2 has up to a 3 hour nap at lunchtime.

I think he just needs his sleep. He likes it and loves going to bed!
