My 2.5 year old had always been a perfect sleeper up until us getting her a toddler bed as we were expecting baby number 2 and ever since then she wouldn't go to sleep on her own it's gotten better as now I am only staying with her for about 10-15 minutes.until she falls asleep so I don't mind it but now baby number 2 is here and husband is going back to work tomorrow I'm unsure on how to do the sleep routine without ruining my 2.5 year olds bed time. Please can you share your bedtime routine for 2 children and how you did (gradually or just changed it at once)?

My DD1 was similar age when DD2 was born. I used to give them a bath together which dd1 loved, I'd lie the baby between her legs for a bit and she'd wash her. Then feed dd2 while reading to DD1. Then I'd put the baby to bed. So all at the same time. You could tell dd1 you are just settling the baby and then you will be back for a goodnight kiss. But she must stay in bed, perhaps she will be asleep by the time you get back.
