I think I have made a huge mistake and my son now thinks he should sleep all day.

We've had real problems getting him to sleep through but we've finally cracked it.

Yesterday I made the decision that he should have his naps in his cot rather than the pushchair and he was fine with it.

Last night he slept from 6:30 till 10am this morning and I had to wake him at that.
By 12:30 he was cranky again so I put him in his cot for a nap and he is still asleep!

Have I totally ballsed up?

No, but could you come round and work your magic on my DS!

chopster · 10/07/2007 14:45

aww he is probably more comfortable in his cot. I'd wake him though.

Nbg · 10/07/2007 14:48

You think I should wake him then.

unless you like being up all night, yes.

bohemianbint · 10/07/2007 14:49

yeah, or he might be up all night. How old is DS?

Nbg · 10/07/2007 14:50

Dd has slept through from 7 wks and at 19 months still needs what most people seem to think is a ridiculous amount of sleep - goes to bed at 8pm, up at 10am then has a nap around 2pm that usually lasts 1.5hrs. I think some children just need that little bit extra especially if they are particularly active when they're awake! Hopefully it'll last (but then you'll realise you no longer have an excuse as to not dong the housework, etc!!!!).

Hes changed so much in the last 2 days.
He's finally decided to eat, let me feed him, standing on his own, walking a bit and sleeping better.

Not used to it!

Apparently the average 12 month old needs 10-11 hours sleep at night plus 1 or 2 day time naps lasting 1-2 hours each. So being an average obviously some children need more. And of course, some less!!

Just got him up and he's not happy

Ahh well
