How do I get my baby to nap more than 45mins

My baby is 6 and a half months old and only naps for 30 or 45mins.
Most of my friends babies have a good 2hr nap now. How do I get my baby to nap longer?!?

Does he fall asleep by himself?

You could try this : go and sit next to your baby just before they would normally wake from their nap. As soon as you see the slightest sign that they are going to wake up, start doing whatever you would normally do to get them to sleep - shushing, rocking, whatever normally works for your baby. If they drop back off then they should in theory sleep for another 45 minute cycle. Eventually this will become habit and they will stretch their nap time to 1.5 hours.

If you artificially very gently wake them at 35/40 mins, they should go back off rrally quickly for another 45 min cycle. I used to pick up my baby for a cuddle and then when they'd go heavy on my shoulder, I'd put them back down and it did seem to work! Scary that first time though 😂
