Hi.
My 6 month old goes to bed at 6.30-7 and has a dream feed about 10.30. then wakes and chats and chats and chats till eventually after half an he gets shouty. I go in and give him milk but he doesn't need it as i sometimes only give him 3 ozs. He then might chat a little bit more then can sleep till between 6 and 7. I no its not terrible but im exhausted as I just no how to make him sleep better. Should I give up dream feed? Any advice please. I have a 3 year old and knackered! They are in same room and she doesn't seem disturbed atm!

If it was me, I'd stop dream feed, then offer just enough milk to get him off again if he wakes at 4 or 5am, then up the milk in the day and then hopefully if he wakes he'll stop needing a feed and just need a hug to drift off. Once you're there, then try removing the sleepyhead? I'm saying all this like I know what I'm doing but tbh, we are all just making it up and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt! The only thing that helps me is knowing that if it doesn't work you can just go back and if they are already waking up, then it's not like you are going to stop them sleeping through. If you get rid of the dreamfeed and your baby struggles it's easy to add back in, but you'll never know if you can drop it unless you try 😊
