Is my baby sleeping too much? 5mo

Hello,
I have never posted before and I am aware this type of subject is enough to rile up any sleep deprived mums out there (sorry!) however... I have been moved to Mumsnet as my little ones sleep has got me thinking.
He is 5mo this week and the past month has been sleeping quite a long stretch at night. He can go down anytime from 8pm - 10pm after a bath and a bottle and sleep all the way through to 8/9am. Throughout the day his naps vary, all dependant on what the day holds (i.e swimming and sensory classes almost guarantee an immediate nap) but I would say he would sleep anything from 2-4 naps of an average total of 1-2 hours. He really is a fantastic baby but in the mornings I am hovering to wake him up to change a heavy nappy /feed him. It was actually my mum that concerned me saying that it was unusual to her that a baby sleep that long - especially not waking to cry for a feed or that it may not be good that he goes so long without hydration. He gets 4 x 8oz feeds a day which is a recent thing - he's pretty solid and was born 8lb9oz now probably almost 15lb! In terms of other issues he is teething at the minute which hasn't (yet!) bothered him throughout the night. I should also add that I don't mean he always sleeps right through - he may wake at random times at which I give him his dummy or simply take him into bed with me which instantly settles him! So I'll probably suffer once he is in his own room with some of these bad habits....but I just wanted to ask other mums is this normal?
Please do go easy before you all tell me to be simply grateful ☺ I very much am, however as a first time mum I am of course curious and sometimes obsessed with milestones!
P. S if it matters he is formula fed. I stopped bf'ing at 6 weeks at which he probably turned a corner - from newborn to now he has stretched from a four hour continuous sleep to six hours to eight hours etc.

Thanks in advance....

Sounds the same as my 4 month old- nothing to worry about

Sounds like my DS at that age. Only bedtime/wake time were earlier so I had a longer evening

My son slept loads all the way to school! 12 hours at night after a 3 hour afternoon nap until he was 4. (Don’t worry there were other challenges!) some just sleep more than others! As long as they gain weight and have lots of wet and dirty nappies basically nothing to worry about!

My 4.5month old has similar cumulative sleep over 24 hours - I dream of the night he sleeps a stretch like yours though Smile
