10 weeks and trying to start a routine... advice welcome for FTM

So my baby is 10 weeks today. She's a good sleeper generally but more often than not, despite napping, tends to get overtired in evening and requires a bit of rocking to get to sleep. Once asleep we put her down about 8 and 9 times out of 10 she won't wake until 3/4 for her next feed. Then usually after that we're up at 7am.

I know 10 weeks is too young to expect her to go through the night but everything I read says put to bed at 7, which essentially me and DP want to do so we get the evenings to ourself again.

I've never tried a dream feed... are they risky? Any advice on these would be great.

Also, in the day I can sit on sofa and hold my baby and she will just fall asleep on her own accord, or in her sleepyhead but at night we find we have to give her a right old rocking to get her off.

Any advice on teaching them to self settle? She's okay with white noise in the night but the INITAL put down in the evenings she doesn't self settle at all she lays awake until she gets the hump and then cries until we rock!

I'm not struggling as I don't mind rocking her but I see everywhere about teaching babies to self settle and I would say of an evening she doesn't know how to.

No way! Mine didn’t start going to bed at 7 regularly until about 18 months Grin your baby hasn’t read the books, don’t worry about it and just go with the flow
