How much do most 2-year-olds sleep in 24 hours?

Curious to know. Dd, 23 months, seems to be cutting her sleep to 10-11 hours at night and 1-1.5 hours in the day which I would have thought wasn't enough for a 2-year-old.

So what do yours do?

My dd is 2 and 2 days! She generally sleeps 12 hours a night and has recently started napping only every other day. I still put her down for her nap but one day she will sleep, then the next she will just play in her cot.

Oh sorry, when she does nap it's anything from 1.5 to 2.5 hours

Thanks everyone. At the moment dd is still napping in the day though only in her pram and for around an hour. Before she gave up her cot sleeps it was double that.

I do worry that she's not getting the sleep she needs right now. She seems much more tired than when she was sleeping better.

Twick, I find DS sleeps for much longer in his bed than in the buggy. I think it is because he wants to turn over in the buggy and wakes himself up. So he'll sleep for an hour max in the buggy, but 2-2.5 hrs in bed (if he has a nap that day - he's close to 3, and is capable of going without naps some days). Mind you, DS only sleeps 10-11hrs at night - I just accept the trade-off as I don't mind a later bedtime, and I think he is much better-tempered after his mammoth naps than going without.
