Hi,

I need some advice. My daughter has always been a pretty bad sleeper, but these past few months she has been terrible. She is 13 months, and every night for about a month or two she wakes at 2.30.. and it is always this time, no earlier, no later, and she stays awake for 3/4 hours. I feel so sleep deprived as it's useless me going to sleep when she does as once she is settled she wakes up every hour crying. I don't know what I'm doing wrong? She naps perfectly during the day, she is developing well, she isn't hungry because I make her a bottle and she just throws it away. I change her nappy and make sure she isn't wet, I give her calpol as she is teething, sometimes I'm that exhausted I try and settle her in my bed, but no matter what I do she will not fall to sleep until 5.30/6am even though her eyes are so tired.

I have DC on the way and I'm due in may and I was hoping to get DD into her own bedroom and sleeping through by then, but I have no hope at the minute.

Please give me some advice on how to get her to sleep through. Or at least let me know I'm not alone😫

Err, you possibly dont want to hear this.
When DS2 arrived, I slept in the nursery with him in a crib.
DH had the baby monitor and DS1.
I got better sleep of the 2 of us - and that still included seeing DS1 about once a night.

I does get better. Honest!

How many naps does she have in the day? We engineered our daughters to happen about 11am for an hour and a half at this age as she was the same

You're not the only one.. I just posted this on another tired mums thread...

My youngest used to do this! Anything between 2.30 and 5am- it drove us crazy. The sleep deprivation is awful.

I eventually put up a travel cot in the living room with the tv on and baby monitor and plonked him in there when he woke up before going back to bed, I used to come down with my older ones approx 7.30am and he'd be fast asleep.

A few told me that I shouldn't be putting him downstairs in front of the tv but it was either that or some very sleep deprived, frustrated parents!*
