20 month old sleep - what is going on?!

Probably wouldn’t be as fussed but I also have a newborn so this new thing of DS1 not sleeping is not fun!
2 weeks of waking (usually) twice a night, screaming and standing up in cot the minute he’s woken up, lost all ability to self settle during the night and for naps, can be awake for up to an hour while we try and get him back to sleep and then he wakes for the day at 4/4.30 - usually half hour after I’ve just got him back off. He’s had Nurofen before bed and usually at one of the wakings for teeth. I have no clue what else to do? Is there a sleep regression around now? He won’t sleep in bed with us so I seem to be sat by his cot for half the night in between feeding DS2.

Just to add he has never slept ‘well’ but usually sleeps through maybe 3 times a week and wakes at 5.30. On the days he doesn’t sleep through generally he just needs a cuddle and lying back down.

No idea but dd is 22 months and waking me up at 4am as well! It’s very slowly killing me. I have tried everything and nothing has worked. Which is no help at all I know. But here in solidarity. Hopefully someone comes along and gives advice that works Flowers Brew Cake for you

Oh gosh. Not nice for you, however I feel slightly relieved that someone else’s child is doing this! How long has she been doing it for?

Since the clocks changed. She was always an early riser, but I could handle a 6am wake up, seems like a lay in now! It just makes the day so long, and she gets hideously grumpy come 3/4 because she’s tired, but I’m sure putting her to bed then would result in a 2am morning.
