16 month old waking up and wanting to anything but go back to sleep!

Just looking for some advice/reassurance...

15 month old, who has been an excellent sleeper to date, has woken up for 2/3/4 hours in the night for the past week 😕 full of beans and ready to play despite being full of the cold....

husband's taken her out again in the car for a drive (against my better judgement, I can already here the lecturing tones from DM and DMIL about rods being created etc) and I'm sitting here getting myself totally wound up that she/we'll never get a good night sleep again!!

Anyone any suggestions as to why she's suddenly turned nocturnal?

Suggestions as to how we can get her sleeping through again?

Words of wisdom to reassure me we won't be doing 2am drives with a 4 year old....

Hi - i am afraid I have no words of wisdom as mine has just started doing exactly the same. I will be following this thread. He is 20 months and just decided that the hours between 12midnight and 2am are awake time. I have a video monitor and can see that he just lies there with his eyes wide open, and just gets up very 10 minutes or so bouncing and shouting. It's so weird. Ive tried nightlights, no lights, being soothing, being tough, changing his nappy, offering him water but nothing seems to work. Hoping its just a phase (most things are) but its frustrating, and the last thing I want to do is anything that in any way reinforces it! Sending you lots of love and hope yours sleeps soon x

No advice here, either. DD's 7 now, but at around that age, she'd wake up, have an absolute raging tantrum (about nothing I could ever decipher), and eventually collapse on me out of exhaustion. Lasted a few weeks and stopped as suddenly as it started.
Hope you get a solid night's sleep soon Flowers
