my 3 month old will only sleep once she had screamed for around 5/10 minutes...i realise its good that she does go to sleep and its ok at nite when we put her in the cot but during day if we are at someones house, doing baby yoga etc etc (unless she is being pushed in her buggy or in her magic swing where she falls alseep without a murmour!) she will have a complete meltdown before going to sleep...there has to be a better way to fall asleep?! anyone been here and found anything that helped
in baby whisperer world she is def a 'touchy
baby, i do look for cues, try to put her down when she has been active for 2 hours etc but she goes from happy to meltdown in under .5 seconds...

I think some babies do just have to have a little cry before going to sleep. DS is still like this at one year old - but it's not a real "need mummy" cry (else I would go to him) but more a winding down, getting out frustrations, blocking out the world type thing. Took me months to accept that's just the way he is! She sounds like she's doing really well with the self-settling for her age

My ds is now 1 and we have always left him to cry it out for 5/10 mins. Some of them really do just need to get it out of their system and for you to let them be to do it in their own way. My ds is the happiest, smileyest of boys(in the main!!) so doesn't do him any harm. Also when I used to go in to try and soothe him he would practically beat me out of the cot.

Just persevere and be consistent with your approach. You are doing really well to be teaching your dd to settle herself at an early age and will reap the benefits in the months to come
