11m old wakes at midnight. Can't settle for 1.5hrs.

My baby has never been a great sleeper. EBF and fed to sleep.

Eating solids but constipated (goes daily but big solid adult like poos with limited cleaning needed. Lots of straining and screams)

Over past two weeks I've been cuddling him to sleep for naps, singing twinkle twinkle and gentle rocking in chair. Initially took 15min of crying/arching. Now content and sleeps within 3min. Sleep at night SO much better as think he's settling himself more and less reliant on boob.

At bedtime he is still fed to sleep. He wakes at midnight. However, it takes up to 1.5hrs to gethim back to sleep with same routine as naps. It's like he wants to get off me, so I've tried shush patting him in his cot (has worked previously) . Again, this takes hours, and last night I ended up rocking him and he finally went down.

Sometimes wakes at 5am and then I'll feed him, and wakes around 730. However, sometimes wakes at 6ish and then we start the day.

Help. Any tips to reduce time of settling at midnight? Shall I stop feeding to sleep at bed now we've mastered naps? I also think his constipation isnt helping (seeing GP this morn) as he's fussier with goods.

One tired mum. X

another tired mum following your thread.
Mine is the same age and wakes frequently although not for so long (except for at 3 am when she is already in bed with us and I can't tolerate her on her dummy (aka my nipple) any more.
I don't know what to do, but we are going to work on good sleep practices at the easy times. We put her down at 7pm and pat her back (or else she sits up) so we are going to try and gradually stop this so she learns to self settle (again). Then hopefully she will be able to do it herself in the middle of the night....

Having a very similar problem with my 5 month old. Used to be a fantastic sleeper and self settle up until the last month and a half back to waking every 2-3 hours for a feed which I can tolerate but around 2am she now wakes for a good 2-3 hours in which she will only want to use me as a dummy. I have tried everything I can think of to get her to sleep such as singing, patting, white noise, feeding, comforters etc. she has also pretty much stopped napping during the day. I am beyond tired now and welcome any advice, tips or suggestions of products that have worked for others.

Similar problems here , my 10 month old wakes around 12 for a feed and goes back to sleep almost straight away but then will wake up around 3 and start shouting and playing in her cot , takes about an hour to get her back down ( lots of patting and shushing and occasional last resort to the bottle!) and then she's up between 5 and 530 ready to start the day 🙄 she goes down fine between 1830/1900 but I dread the 3am wake up , it's so draining having to spend an hour getting her back to sleep and then of course I'm wired and by then time I finally drift off she's awake again! Sorry this post contains no advice at all but just wanted to let you know you aren't alone!!
