Baby monitor with sensory mat

Can I have recommendations of the best monitors with the sensory mats that go under the mattress to monitor breathing? We are wanting to buy one, but so many out there now.

You do realise they don't prevent SIDS? We just used a normal one without mat

Just get a normal one. I've never heard of a life being saved due to the mat. More often than not they go off in the night and you end up waking baby to check they are OK.

I had the clip on the nappy kind and a mat, and within a week got rid of both! I had DC in a bedside crib and felt far better without the gadgets, after a few false alarms my nerves were shot.
However, I know from a friend that their preemie (who had a lot of complications including oxygen for nighttime) was saved by having the mat sensor, so they are great for babies who need that little extra when it comes to monitoring.

Personally we bought one for piece of mind. It has only gone off once and I found DS face down in his cot. I don't know if had rolled off the mat or it was a real alarm but has made me feel better about having it. We went for the angelcare one without the video monitor and it seems pretty good. My parents also bought a second hand one for their house.

We have the angel care we got from amazon. I get people saying they don't prevent Sids but surely it can tell you somethings happened in time to do something about It?
I have Post Natal Anxiety and I've slept a lot better since buying one.
It's gone off once I turned it off thinking it was a false alarm watched the baby and realised she hadnt taken a breath, had to shake her awake before she took one. It was probably just a very long pause but I was very happy we had the mat.

We had the babysense one that comes with some Motorola monitors. Used it for 3 years Blush and only has a handful of false alarms when toddler rolled tightly in a corner of the bed.

We had the angelcare one which was great when lo was first born. Gave up with it around 9 months I think because we kept getting false alarms, he's a proper fidget. Caused more anixety then than anything.
