She's been going through her first sleep regression.
Tonight is the first night in weeks she hasn't been up every hour. She ate at half 10 and I had an amazing sleep from 11 to half 2. She ate for 10 minutes and went back to sleep.
And I'm just laying here. Wide awake.
I've been laying here so long I'm uncomfortable and hungry.
I'm completely exhausted and I can't fall asleep! It's been two hours so I don't see the point in sleeping now as she'll be awake soon.

Guess I just wanted to moan 😴 😳

I get this, once you're used to waking frequently it becomes habit and you're awake regardless of whether baby is or not. DD started sleeping through at 21 months, and for the two months she was sleeping (were in the midst of the two year sleep regression now) I had terrible insomnia. No real advice I'm afraid, just sympathy as I know it's so frustrating. I have found Sainsbury's bedtime tea has been helping me drop off more quickly, if you like herbal tea it might be worth a try

I have the same. I wake up at 2, 3, 4 for no reason, DS 7 won't wake up until at 5.30, and he wasn't even here for 4 days.

I'm doing the same. Having a rare good night during the four month regression and I'm lying here thinking about work. Hmm

I have no issue falling asleep first thing it's after she wakes that's the issue. It's so frustrating I'm exhausted during the day I can barely keep up with any of the housework and the first night in a month she gives me more than 45 minutes to sleep I'm wide awake.
I went and got some food after very unfairly bitching out my husband for sleeping. (ill need to apologise for that one tomorrow)
Came back to bed she woke for a minute and went back to sleep after a pat.
The optimist in me is hoping this is the light at the end of the dark tunnel of sleep regression.
Although that may also be the naive nackered version of me...

My baby slept through till 5:30am today. But at 10pm there were fireworks, then foxes shrieking and bloody moped riders in the wee small hours. There’s also the bladder and anxious thoughts to contend with. I know how you feel!

If you're BF it's quite possible that you are hungry. I used to eat at least once during the night when DD was young and then I'd have two breakfasts: one after the first morning feed then another around 10am.

All that eating didn't stop me losing my baby weight easily so don't let any thoughts of that stop you from eating if you're hungry.

Yaya! Was it you I was talking to about this the other day saying mines the same but slept thru bake off??! Wow, I've got to add that our babies do like to keep the same schedule as mines done exactly the same at exactly the same times AND I was lying awake wondering if this was a turning point but also wondering why I'm not asleep Confused ha! Twinning in life again! I hope our babies are coming out of this soon. The last few nights here have been awful but I'm ever the optimist. I personally think it's the adrenaline/excitement at the prospect of future long sleeps is keeping us awake; ohhhh the irony...

Shabeth · 01/09/2018 09:43

Oh I definitely have the bf hunger! Went and got some breakfast at half 5 because I couldn't take it and I'm in my second breakfast this morning. Eventually got to sleep around half 6 and she woke at 8. Husband tried taking her downstairs but I was already wide awake 🙄.

Ha yes Rosie that was me! Never posted on here more than now in the middle of the night 😂 how funny we're following each other perfectly! It's nice to know other people are up with me all night but now I'm going to be up feeding wondering if you're out there doing the same thing ha
Exactly we're laying there thinking omg they're sleeping they're sleeping! This could be the end I might get more than an hour! It's almost like I'm trying to get to sleep before an exciting holiday... Oh how much my life has changed.
