Advice on napping and sleeping for my 5 month old

Hi All,

I’m a new poster and not down with the abbreviations so apologies if this is a long read!

Just a bit of advice really, I have a 5 month old boy. He’s a fantastic sleeper at night, he goes down at 6 and doesn’t normally wake up until 5, we then pop him in bed with us and he’ll drop back off until about 7.

My question is that he doesn’t nap much during the day. Only 20 to 30 minutes max 3 times a day. I know I shouldn’t grumble as he sleeps so well at night but just wondered if I should be trying to get him to nap more or just accept that he sleeps at night and not worry about the day naps?

Thanks in advance

My 6 nearly 7 month old just will not nap for long atall! Shes too nosey and if she does nap its for 20 minutes or so. But she will sleep well through the night.

I wouldnt worry. If they want to sleep or need sleep im sure they will, but if they dont then i wouldnt be concerned, atleast they sleep well at night haha.

Hope this helps

@Smudge116 where are you putting him for his nap?

Hi, in his bed usually, unless I’m out so either the car or the buggy when walking the dogs. X
