Baby Girl 6 months I'm feeling exhausted

Hello,

I'm a first time parent my baby girl has just turned 6 months.

She is usually still getting up once in the night for a feed, we have had the odd night where she hasn't etc.

But what I'm asking is it normal to feel exhausted at 6 months postpartum? I literally feel that everyday it's a struggle to get out the house I just want to sit on the sofa as I feel knackered. I didn't end up breast feeding.

Or am I just being soft Confused

Hi, my dd is a bit older than yours and I do feel tired from waking up in the night but not as bad as you're feeling. Do you get any time to yourself? Maybe also worth getting your iron level and thyroid checked? Giving birth can send things out of whack. Hope you feel better soon.

Do you practice good self care? It is hard with a young baby I know, but it does help. Things like eating regularly, getting plenty of fluids, nutritious food, a multivitamin and all the sleep you can possibly get.

Around that age I put my DC in nursery 1 day per week even tho I was a SAHM, just so I could nap and prepare some healthy meals and look after myself. Do you have any scope to do something similar?

You have my sympathy, it is hard.

Hi Op, I'm in the same boat as you (DS, 6 months).. I think this is a tiring time as your body is sort of adjusting to the previous 6 months of relentless-ness! I thought 3 months was a peak tiredness time too. Lots of coffee is helping me. I also take iron supplements as prescribed by doctors,'so maybe worth checking?

I'd say its definitely worth visiting your gp and getting some blood tests done to rule out any problems. I was exhausted when my dc was 6 months, my whole body hurt and moving was so much effort. My dc was sleeping through the night and I was having naps when he napped yet I was still exhausted and I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid a few months later.

I would deffo visit your doctor. My 19 month old wakes 2-6 times a night still which is normal. I have felt much better since taking vitamins.
