Just tell me it gets better...

9 month old, seems to be in a regression. Wakes at least 7 times a night and up by 5am at the latest. 5am has been standard for a long time but it's very difficult now with all the wakings. I'm so tired, I'm dropping things during the day- literally breaking things every day. I'll get through this if someone tells me it gets better with time Sad

It does! My son woke every 2 hours for nearly 13 months and then suddenly 10 hours a night every night

i promise it gets better, sleep regression is a blip, you just got to survive

mine. didn't sleep well until they were 10 months and now they are 7 and 9! it passes and as you hold your baby i your arms be aware it will pass, but they just want an extra cuddle

I was exactly the same ! It was the bars on his cot that woke him up, at 16 months we put him on a double bed on the floor and he slept through !! I wish I'd known to do it sooner x

It gets better. Sounds like 8-10 month sleep progression. My dd used to sleep through but from 8 months has been waking up to 7 times a night and up at 5.30.

Things I've found that help- wait it out! And I moved bedtime back from 6.45 to 7.30 and without a doubt she has generally slept in later since then, normally til about 6.30 (although not today haha).

We will get through this!

Thank you everyone! It's good to know others have passed through this stage I've got to maintain a level head about this, especially at 2am when everything seems so much worse!!

It does get better honestly. My dd did not sleep or stop screaming for the first year of her life due to reflux. It was a horrific time.

Things improved a bit at 12 months when I moved her to a bed rather than a cot. Things were completely sorted by about 20 months where she slept through 7-7ish apart from illness / the odd night with one / two wakings.

From 3 ish she has been really easy to put down. Story, hugs and kisses, chats and then lights out and I don't see her again until the morning.

She is nearly 7 now and that first year does seem really far away.
