Is your toddler sometimes not tired enough for bed?

Lately if my 15 month old has had two naps instead of one long one or a later afternoon nap then he won't go to bed very easily at 7pm 🤔
Is this common at this age?

Can be. You need to knacker him. I have 3 boys and when the youngest was 13 months the bigger 2 were 2 and 3. Walk them and get them exhausted. Put the work in and they sleep. Simple as that.

If my 18 mo has 3 naps she won't go to bed until 11pm.
We have to limit her to 1 hour at lunch time or we don't get an evening.
Saying that she is doing what the heck she likes with sleep in this heat ATM.

I no longer have toddlers but yes I’m afraid so. DD1 dropped her nap at one if we were in the house and would be a nightmare to get to sleep if she had any too much sleep in the day. We have had to exhaust both our children in the daytime to ensure they were tired at night when they were toddlers. Plus all bets are off in this weather and with the lighter evenings.

Yes, we had to drop to 1 nap at 11 months with both DC otherwise they wouldn’t go to bed at a decent time.

And both dropped their naps completely at 20 months. They sleep a solid 7-7 now (sometimes 7-8) so cant complain too much.

My DD recently turned 2, she has a long afternoon nap that she wouldn't be able to function without, falls asleep almost immediately. Yet at bedtime it's a long process of calming her down, she was too busy singing at 8:30 to sleep tonight...
