has anyone else's toddler reverted to early daytime naps for a period of time? (i mean falling asleep mid-morning rather than after lunch)

not so long ago it would take monumental efforts to get ds (just turned 2) to go down for his nap, even if we left it til after 1pm

but for the last week or so he's been getting tired earlier, and today nodded off in the car at 10:25

DS is nearly 3 and he can still be prone to dropping off in the car in the morning if we're on a long enough journey. Don't think he'd nap in his bed in the morning though but happily naps in there in the afternoon.

Maybe hes feeling under the weather? Growth spurt?

DS (23 months) sleeps 12.30/1 ish - 2.30 when he's with the childminder Mon-Thurs. Come Friday when he's at home with me, he will ASK to go to bed at any time between 11 - 11.30. I make sure he has a biggish snack and then he'll sleep for at least 2 and possibly 3 hours. The rest of the weekend, if we are at home, are similar with his nap being earlier rather than later.
I figure he's catching up a bit because there's more to do during the week and he has less inclination to spend time sleeping when he has playmates.
Although, maybe it's just because he's always getting up at stupid o'clock and is simply knackered by then, but I can't seem to do anything about that!!

thanks both

yes early morning waking could be a factor, although he's at least made it to 6:00 the last few days [shock and awe]

mine did the opposite - swapped morning long nap for afternoon long nap at about a year, then dropped nap altogether aged 2.
