We did CC with ds just after christmas which he really took to it. We put him in his cot and leave and off he goes to sleep. However, we are always up and down during the night, many times, and it is getting worse. Even if we don't get out of bed to see to him (he often settles himself back to sleep) we still wake up as he is so noisy. If he wakes after around 4:45 that is him awake for the day. It is extremely rare that he sleeps past 6:30.

We have tried all sorts already:
He goes to bed around 7pm and is ready to go. Tried a variety of nap combinations and a variety of length of nap - no change
We have tried no nap - but he is grouchy before tea time and wants to sleep and the last hour is a nightmare.
We have tried more/less milk before bed
We haev black out curtains and heavy navy blue curtains at the windows.

Help!
Other information that might be important. He sleeps in a gro bag, and depending on the temperature wears different layers of clothes. At the moment, his bedroom temp is around 23-25 degrees.

PLease help - want this sorted before the next one comes along!

Is he too warm?
How much sleep total does he have during the day? Do you let him have a sleep after 4pm?
If he sleeps past 4.45am in the morning, what time does he sleep till?

What are his naps at the moment? He does sound as if he might be too warm in this recent hot weather.

I'm having a very similiar problem with 2 year old DS and a lot of my friends are having restless nights with their kids too. I do think the recent heat has a lot to do with it. We've been putting DS down in just a nappy with a fan on low in his room and that seems to help. He's sleeping better in the night but still waking early.

I'll be interested to read the other anwers too. I'd love to sleep past 6am one morning!

To be honest, i would say he is probably more likely to be too cold than too hot as he is usually in his 0.5 tog grobag at the moment.

His nap is either just before or just after lunch - either around 11:00 til 12:30 or 12:30 until 2:00. He never has a late sleep and if he has slept 2 hours I will wake him. If it is really hot, we put the fan on until we go to bed. The latest he has slept until in the last few months is 6:30 and that is a rarity!
