ds is now 8 months and just doesn't seem to need any sleep. had two 40 min naps during the day and thats all. night times he would wake every hour or two, and be awake for up to 40 mins at a time. Once he got to six months it all seemed to stop- sometimes he would nap for an hour instead of 40 mins and he started to sleep better at night, only waking for a feed between 10 and midnight. Now though we seem to have gone back to square one. Waking up forty minutes after going down, then at least three times at night. Typical night eg last night. woke at 1.20,resettled after about 20 mins, of me going in soothing him and leaving, (cc of sorts), then at 3 when he was up for forty minutes, then again at half four. He finally fell asleep in my arms at quarter to six. At this point I had given up on any form of soothing in the cot or cc -it had just been going on too long. Then he was wide awake at twenty past six . any one else been in the same situation, any advice? Poor dh had his head bitten off this morning. Just soooooo tired.

Does he fall asleep in his cot when he first goes down?

my nearly 8mo is even worse if it's any consolation! My older 2 were great sleepers & now suffer with short tempered sleep deprived mum during the day - fortunately they both sleep through DD2's screaming, sometimes between 10 & 15 times a night! Will be watching this thread in hope of miracle advice

there are times when he does fall asleep straight away, espscially when he goes down for his morning nap, but night times are just odd. He has his last bottle of milk and most evenings, by the htime he has had that he is very sleepy and some nights will go down with no problem. Then he will slepp for forty mins, wake up and the pattern is repeated! Ither times he will be practically asleep but the minute we put him down he will wake up screaming. I dont know if the change in his sleep pattern is anything to do with him crawling or just a coincidence.

sorry wiggle only just got back to pc again. Have tried a bit of half hearted cc, pu/pd & when I'm really just too knackered a bf!!!!! I was loking through my Ds & Dd1's baby books today & they actually only started sleepinhg through at 8 or 9 months - I just remember them being so much easier but maybe rose coloured memory! How's this week been for you?
