My six month old is primarily formula fed, but also breast feeds (My supply is super low). For (my) medical reasons, I need to wean him off the breast, and I've got 4-6 weeks to do it in.
During the day I get him to sleep using one of car/pushchair/sling/breastfeeding. In the evenings it has to be breastfeeding. Overnight he wakes twice for a bottle (and goes straight back to sleep) plus two-three times he just cries and needs to latch on to sleep. Some times his mouth will barely touch my nipple and he'll be asleep, at other times he'll need to cosleep with my nipple in his mouth for hours.
How do I stop this? He hates dummies, I've tried so many. He's not hungry - he will refuse a bottle. He screams blue murder if DH tries to settle him at night (Will eventually sleep for him during the day).
My supply is already low, if I took steps to dry it up completely might that help? In desperation I've wondered about taking Sudafed.
