short napper..won't resettle after just a 30 min. nap..help

DD is 19mth has only one nap in the afternoon and cannot fall back to sleep after her short 30 min. nap. I have tried CC and CIO but only for a few days at a time until I just give in and pick her up.
Should I just accept the fact that she is a short napper? OR should I continue the CC or CIO for more than a couple of days? Has anyone experienced this before?
Thanks

Is there a reason why you feel she has to nap? If she doesn't seem like she needs it I wouldn't bother.

I agree with lou. Does she sleep well at night? My friend's dd (22 months) sleeps at least 12 hours at night and only has a short daytime sleep, whereas my dd (also 22 months) sleeps 10-11 hours at night so usually has a couple of hours in the day.

DDs lack of sleep during the day seems to be affecting her night time sleep b/c she keeps waking up. She use to sleep soundly through the night until recently. She may be so overtired.
I would be happy with at least an hour a day of napping. DD becomes grumpy close to her bed time.

What about bringing her bedtime forwards a bit?

ononap · 12/08/2004 01:50

I have brought her bedtime up as early as 5:30 p.m. in order for dd to catch up on her sleep. She will then wake up at 5:00 a.m.

I try to put her in bed by 6 p.m. 85pct of the time and she will eventually fall asleep around 6:45 p.m. and wake up closer to 6:15 am

dd has 30 mins around 12pm.is dropping after her bath around 7-7.30pm and go's to sleep till 11pm, then wakes up/chunters all night till i give up and put her in spare bed with me- have all intentions of putting her back once settled but so tired so drop of myself. she then wakes me up anytime from 5.30am and i can barely open my eyes!
