Can't get my toddler to sleep!

My 15 month old daughter just refuses to go to sleep. We had a bedtime routine of bath, books, and singing/rocking to sleep but it just doesn't work anymore.

She now naps once a day between 12 and 2 and seems tired by 7pm. We have her bath at 7 which lasts around 10 minutes then she'll have milk and her dummy and comforter. She then refuses to be cuddled or to lie down and just wants to play.

We have managed to read her to sleep a few times (reading endless books until she drifts off) but most of the time all that's worked is letting her fall asleep watching TV. She won't sit still long enough otherwise! I really hate doing this (didn't even want her watching TV at all at this age but I'm at my wit's end). If we don't she just keeps going like the energiser bunny. She's been up until past 11 before we gave up. If we leave her in her cot alone she will just cry.

What am I doing wrong? Please tell me this is a phase. 😭

I'm not an expert, but maybe try to start bedtime a little earlier? Start tidying up at 6ish, then upstairs to start winding down, bath and bedtime. Hopefully by the time 7pm rolls by, she will be drifting off to sleep. From what you've said, I think by starting bathtime at 7, maybe she's being re-energised and missing the critical half an hour for sleep?

And. It may just be a phase. Because babies are odd like that and don't like to tell us what's going on.
