How to cope with babies sleep on holiday? 7mo

I'm just wondering what if anything can be done to not knock any kind of routine sideways for a holiday. We are going away next month with 7mo but still in UK. He has taken FOREVER to get into any decent sleep pattern. He still wakes 2x a night and only naps 30min on and off in the day but hes in his cot and he self settles (hoorah!). So now I need to put him in the travel cot in a strange place I am a little anxious all hell will break loose. Especially as there will be a few late nights Plus he will be back in a bedroom with me so will be presumably able to sense me and my milk.

So far I tried putting DS in his sleepyhead in the travel cot in the back bedroom and he cried for 50min. Totally did my back in too as its so low.

Any tips on how best to approach or am i wasting my time and best to just enjoy what I can and sort when back? Smile

Thanks!

My experience is.. keep to routine when you can but don't stress when you can't. Keep trying in the travel cot to get used to it. I also put blankets and toys that were familiar in it don't know if it would make a difference without but..! Mine took a while to adjust as the sides made a different sound when they moved against them. Suggest a chair or stool by cot to sit on to try and help with the back pain but it is annoying still. Not much you can do about the room sharing though but maybe have cot as far from you as possible?
