My dd (10mths) does and is was just looking through some sleep threads and thought that most peoples babies seem to go to bed later. It isnt really a prob, although she does tend to wake between 5.30am and 6 and slightly later in the morning would be nicer!

DD went to bed at 6.15pm again today, so maybe next week i can get her to 6.30!

DD goes to bed at 6.15/6.30 and sometimes 7/7.30 depending on how the day has gone and it has never made any difference to when she wakes in the morning... Usually, 5.30 at the mo. Even if it did, I just love the evenings clear for myself and DH.

PrincessPeaHead · 18/05/2007 14:50

mine goes to bed around 6.20/6.30 ish. gets up 6/6.15ish. she would probably stay up until almost 7 if I let her, but I have three older ones to get to bed/do stuff with so she gets chucked in early and I just put up with the early start

wot time are your lo's last naps then?
my ds's vary wildly!

nappyaddict · 19/05/2007 14:08

This is an approximate guide to ds' day:

9am wake, milk and breakfast

11/11.30 nap

1.30/2pm lunch

2.30pm nap

4:30/5pm milk

might have a short nap somewhere here.

6pm tea

8/8:30pm get ready for bed

9/9:30pm put down in cot

nappyaddict · 19/05/2007 14:09

oh and he has a bottle of milk obviously before he goes down.

PrincessPeaHead · 19/05/2007 17:50

mine is 15 months, has a nap after lunch (1 ish) for between 2-3 hours

ellieandhattie · 19/05/2007 17:53

my dd1 has always gone between 6-6.30pm and gets up 6-6.30am we've tried later evenings but she still gets up early but gets grumpy in the day think she is natural early riser dd2 in bed by 6.30 and is often awake same time as dd1 (think dd1 'loud' talking encourages dd2 to wake up )

mummynumnum · 19/05/2007 20:04

DD actually had a 2 hour nap this afternoon, which is a first and she went up to bed at 6.30-so I will be keen to see what time she gets up in the morning. My cold has passed and did not mind getting up at all today. It was just gone six so that helped as well.

artichoke - hi! what time do you put your lo to bed my ds goes as late as he can manage (usually 7:45ish) and wakes 10 hrs later. do you think he wakes at that time having had enough sleep or because he just wakes at that time? tempted to try an earlier bedtime but dont want to be up before 5:45am - bloody early as it is

nappyaddict · 20/05/2007 22:15

ellieandhattie - ds used to go to bed at 5 and wake at 7, which got later to 6 and then 7. i didn't want him to wake up til 9am ideally so i started putting him to bed at 9/9:30. for a while he still woke at 7 but i made sure he didn't go down for a nap til 11 and then only for 30-40 mins and stuck at the rough routine i wanted him to have to enable him to go to bed at 9. soon enough he started waking at 9 too.

bonkerz · 20/05/2007 22:16

My DD is 17 months and is in bed by 5.30 most nights. Generally bedtime routine starts at 5pm. She sleeps through till 6.30 / 7am ish and also has 2 hours in the day!!!

nappyaddict · 20/05/2007 22:17

also what time do your lo's have milk. sometimes even though i put ds down at 9 he will still wake at 7 cos he had his last bottle at 7-7:30 the night before. after his bottle he'll then go back down at about 8 for a couple of hours. so my theory is the nights he has an earlier bottle he is waking out of hunger not out of being awake. also had to get some blackout curtains cos the sun was waking him up too early.

Hilllary · 20/05/2007 22:18

DD2 goes up at 5pm (has been 5.30 a couple of days this week) She sleeps through until 9am (15months)

DD1 goes up at 6pm and sleeps through until about 7am

nappyaddict · 20/05/2007 22:23

how old are your dds and do they nap hilllary?

cruisemum1 · 21/05/2007 06:42

hillary - wanna swap lo's!

Hilllary · 21/05/2007 09:14

swap - erm yes during the day please so I can have a cup of tea in peace

DD1 is 3 and dd2 is 15 months, dd1 doesnt nap but dd2 has about 1.5 hours between 11am-1pm. DD2 goes up in her cot for naps unless out where she will usually sleep in her car seat not pram.
