Should I be waking DS or let him sleep?

He's 4.5 months old.

People keep telling me to wake him in the morning, otherwise he won't get up for the school run when he's 4/5 years old Shock

I said that's ages away! The reply I get is "not as far away as you think".

DS goes down at 8PM, wakes up at 9.30/10am. I get up at about 7.30/8am. I Potter around having my shower/make up done and then doing house jobs etc.

If I stay in the bed with him, he won't rise until I get up really.

Am I making a rod for my own back or should I be letting him get up when he feels like it?

Previously I tried waking him when he was a little younger but he got very angst and was very cross for the morning/went back to sleep anyway.

It will change so much in the next six months never mind years. Enjoy it while it lasts!

DONT WAKE HIM!! He's getting the sleep he needs and your getting a head start in the morning. Your very lucky and I think people are a little jealous. Plus who likes to be woke up because I sure know I don't.

My eldest used to go to sleep at 7:30 and 9:30 and I absolutely adored it! He has now just started school and he goes to bed at 7 and wakes up at 7 so still no problem.

My youngest has the exact same routine my oldest did when he was a baby so I'm not worried at all.

Take advantage of it while you can. You'll have to deal with the getting up for school matter when it comes to it. For now appreciate every single second of them being tiny.

Just enjoy it. He may start waking earlier naturally especially in the lighter mornings that are coming.
