Worried that my DD is sleeping too much

I don't know if I'm worrying about nothing or it seems like she's always sleeping I'm never able to sleep myself. My DD nearlu 4 and she sleeps about 12/13 hours at night, 7 pm to 7 or 8 am. Then she'll hopefully stay awake in the morning, she doesn't often have an hour or two hour nap though. Then she'll go to nursery in the afternoon and by the time I come to pick her up she's nearly asleep. On days she stays till about 5:30 She is asleep by then. But on days she has her tea at home she'll be falling asleep on the couch. By 7 she's defiently in bed fast asleep. On weekends it's even more of a struggle to keep her up

How is she otherwise? Is she healthy?

When she's awake, is she active? Does she generally seem to have no energy or is the kind of girl who'll run around in the park on a Saturday afternoon?

The fact she's doing afternoons at nursery might be significant. Could you ask to go on the waiting lists to change to mornings?

I'd suggest she's missing having a proper (2-3h) afternoon nap. I could reasonably expect my preschoolers to have 12h night time sleep plus 3h daytime nap (in the range if 2-4h, depending on how tired they are).

If your DD was at nursery 9am-12pm, keeping her busy in the morning. Then it would be reasonable to expect a long 3h nap after her lunch.

My 3 1/2 year old will sleep 12.30-3.30pm every day. I have to wake her at 3.30 for the school run (older siblings) otherwise she'd happily sleep longer. Her nights are7-7.30pm - 7-7.30am (so 12-13h) and I cannot see this changing very much in ghetto coming year.

My 4 year old sleeps 12-13 hours at night and would easily nap in the day time if she could (she’s at school so she can’t)

I see this as pay off for the fact that she NEVER napped as a newborn and didn’t sleep through until 14 months!

If they are healthy in every other way then I wouldn’t worry.
