Struggling to sleep with my husband

My husband and I are really struggling to sleep next to each other

He moves, snores and twitches in his sleep..keeping me up. So I start sighing and tossing and turning waking him up! In the end we've been sleeping in separate rooms ...or we end up having a terrible night and really grouchy with each other.

I've thought about getting a king size bed but we've just bought all new bedding and duvets so I can't really afford It!!

I have a body cream from lush called sleepy, ear plugs and an eye mask and have tried 3 different mattresses!!!!

It's become a psychological thing for us both as much as anything, as we're both scared to move/breath/ relax in case we wake the other!!!

I was hoping to find a double mattress topper that's in 2 single parts so I wouldn't feel his twitching and he wouldn't feel my movement so much... does anyone know if this is a thing, or does anyone else use 2 single toppers in a double bed?

Any help appreciated

Thanks so much

E

We ended up buying two cheap single beds/mattresses and sharing a big duvet. Probably looks ridiculous, but it's worth it!

No solution but we have the same problem and half the nights we just sleep separately. But we don't get annoyed, it just works better for both of us. Do you have a spare room? If you do then just relax and sleep there when you need to, no pressure, no blame. Then you'll be happier to see each other in the morning. :-) x

No advice really. Our tempur mattress has been banned as it makes him too hot. Currently in separate beds so watching with interest xx

Oh also, when we do sleep together we have separate duvets. Much better! :-) x

I don't like tempur mattresses - as tend to 'sink in' and then cannot move.

We have the odd night 'apart' to break these kind of stress cycles.

Definitely recommend separate duvets. We have called double duvet each which I wrap myself up in so not even touching when asleep. Stops us getting too hot and eliminates duvet theft issues!

Thank you all so so much. So great to hear were not alone in this!!!

Think we'll stick in separate rooms this week...so not too narky for work etc! But then try separate duvets next.

@jesusinthecabbagevan - do you put 2 separate sheets over the 2 singles or 1 double sheet? Also do these fit in the double bed frame?

Thanks all

E
