This baby is driving me mad!!!!!!

I CANNOT get her to sleep and it's getting worse!!

DD2 is 6mo, she's a delightful baby, always smiling and very chilled out during the day.

Bedtimes are becoming completely catastrophic and not sure which direction to go in!!

She usually has her last nap of the day around 3.30/4 for half an hour. She takes all her naps in her pram, I usually rock her although she does on occasion go to sleep herself. She has a comforter that she likes to suck and put over her face, but won't take a dummy.

Her awake time between naps is 1.5-2 hours. She starts getting tired for bed around 6.30, on an ideal night I would take her upstairs, feed her and she would fall asleep feeding. I would then put her in the sleepyhead beside my bed and she would wake about 3 times overnight for a quick feed (which I don't mind)

On a bad night (like tonight, and increasing!) she won't fall asleep during a feed OR treats it like a nap and wakes full of beans 30 mins later. For some reason in the evening her awake time stretches to 3+ hours sometimes and I just can't seem to get her to sleep! she won't take a feed if she's not hungry, and doesn't like me to rock her (although DH is often successful rocking her to sleep). She's never screaming or distraught, but she is very noisy (mainly squealing) so letting her just lie in the sleepyhead awake is not ideal as it disturbs DD1.

Tonight she slept 5.30-7 (wouldn't nap at 4 when she needed one so we pushed through until bed) then was wide awake at 7. It's now 9.15 and although she's tired she just will not sleep!!

She's currently in the sleepyhead, I'm lying down beside her. She's awake but happy enough, won't be long until she starts squealing though!! This is my 3rd attempt at getting her to sleep.

What time are you putting her down for bed? Why does she have to go to sleep at that time? My 11 month old often ‘naps’ at about 7 and is up again, then goes to bed when I do. Just like us they don’t all go to bed at the same time IME.

I just put her down when she's tired, and that all depends on when her last nap is.

The last 3 days I have given her just 2 naps during the day.

By 6pm she is absolutely dog tired and she's been asleep by 6.30 for the last couple of night.

Thankfully, even through she's still waking 3 times or so during the night, this seems to be her down for the night. When she wakes it's just for a quick feed rather than a couple of hours awake time!!

Glad the bedtimes are better on 2 naps. They should get longer so she can make bedtime a bit later in time

I don't mind a 6.30 bed at all, she's not waking properly until 7/8 the following morning so is getting a good sleep.

If only the 3 year old would go to sleep at that time....

Today she had a two hour nap 10.30-12.30 and then a 30min nap 2.40-3.10. It's 5 o'clock now and she's getting tired but she's easily distracted so we'll prob make it for 6.30 again.
