Can't get toddler to nap

Hi can anyone help me, I have two boys a 20 month old and an 8 week old. The toddler still very much needs a nap in the day or he is a nightmare come 3 o clock and bedtime is hell.
The trouble is he needs help to nap, like he needs to be sat on my knee or held and rocked, he won't let me just go put him in his bed. I just don't have time or enough arms to do this while I have a baby attached to my boobs 24/7.
I just don't know what to do, it's so frustrating that I can see him tired lying on the floor and stuff but I can't do anything about it and he won't send himself off to sleep

I found that a nightmare too. I would sometimes do walks in the double buggy or drives in the car but in the end ds1 dropped his day time nap fairly early as I found even when he had a nap he would wake up grumpy! I was relieved when we did not have to faff around with naps at all!

We had this, baby is now 5 months and toddler goes to sleep okay by himself now on the sofa or on the bed upstairs. Some days he doesn’t (like today) but mostly we are back to normal. Go for walks or drives as necessary, anything to get them to nap!

Thank you, well he went without a nap yesterday but went to bed at 6.30 and slept through so I guess in gonna have to accept that he will nap of he feels like it and stop stressing trying to make it happen.
Ah sigh..... I'm gonna miss his nap time 😩

Bed at 6.30s ace. That’s what my DS did sometimes too but I’m sure naps will be back. My DS is 27 months and still naps most days he just took a 4 month nap holiday while he adjusted to having a sister. I think he thought if he went to sleep another baby might turn up...arghhh!
