What time should my 6yo go to sleep?

I have posted before about my DD. She just doesn't go to sleep until 9.30.
She's 6. Is this normal? What are you're experiences of your children and going to sleep? Thank you xx

She needs 12 hours a night at this age.

Should be in the bedroom 7-7.30ish. And asleep 8-9pm.

I put my 6 year old ds to bed between 7.30pm and 8.00pm. Sometimes he is still lying awake at 9pm ( much to my annoyance ) other times hes asleep within ten minutes. He generally gets up between 7am and 7.30am

Assuming she is up at 7ish for school etc I’d say that wasn’t enough. DS1 is 5 and he goes to sleep on the whole at 645/715 and gets 11/12 hours. What is she doing from 7-930?

My DC sleeps 11 hours per night 8-7am but in bed and lights out by 7.30

My 6 year old is still wide awake. Quiet in his room, but just doesn’t seem to need the recommended amount of sleep. He’ll be up at 6am at the latest.

My 5 year old needs between 11 and 13 hours sleep. I try very hard to get her to bed by 7pm. She takes a long time to settle but I find that the earlier she goes to bed themore quickly she settles down

My 6yo starts bedtime routine just after 7 to be in bed for lights out 8. Sometimes she can't sleep so we let her out her light back in and read until 8.30. very occasionally she's still awake at 9.
She does wake up naturally at 6.30 though. When we used to let her read until 9 routinely, she would wake at 7 - 7.15, but that then made the morning rushed.

She's in bed by 7/7.30. Lights out. She just can't settle. Have tried all sorts of routines. Settles better when sleeping with me. She doesn't ever wake in the night. She's the youngest of four. I can't remember the other being this bad.

It's harder because she share a room with her two sisters (9 &10)
They settle to sleep pretty well. She disturbs them a lot.

My five year old is the same. In bed for 7.30 each night but often still awake at 9-9.30. I've tried all sorts too, lavender baths, wind down routines, night lights, yoga, mediation. Nothing really seems to help

Is she tired and grumpy in the day?
My dd is 3 years older than ds and needs more sleep than him. Always has.
I know there are guide lines, but it's a very individual thing.

My nearly 6 year old goes to bed 7-7.30. Usually awake 6-6.30.

My 6 year old goes to bed at 6.45 and is asleep by 7. But they’re all different.

They're all different.

It's more about the quality of the sleep than the length of the sleep.

My son is 6 and in bed for 7pm and asleep for 8pm, some of his friends are up until 10.30.

My 6 year old goes to bedroom at 8.15 or so and sometimes sleeps within 15 mins, other times she can still be awake an hour later. She wakes at 8am though which is fine for us as school is 5 min walk.
So 11 -11.30 hours a night.

My 6.5 year old is almost always in bed and lights off by 7.45/8pm.

BUT often she won't fall asleep until 8.30pm and occasionally 9pm or even later. She'll then sleep for ten / ten and a half hours until 7/7.30am.

All of the Year 2 parents I've spoken to are battling with the problem of getting their 6 and 7 year olds to sleep at a decent hour! It might be an age thing....
