I have two sleep theories I'd like to run past you.

Firstly, in my first pregnancy from when I first felt the baby move, I never let it sleep. If it was quiet for more than an hour, there I'd be, prodding away to wake it up. I now wonder if that was why he turned out to be a poor sleeper. (THIS bump is prod-free.)

Secondly - and my thanks to FrazzledFairy for this theory - I slept really badly in my first pregnancy, and produced a poor sleeper. FF slept well and produced a good one.

We are both sleeping badly this time around...

Can anybody corroborate or otherwise either of these theories?

I have had 2 fabulous sleepers and slept well with both pregnancies...

Not sure about the first theory, but ito the second - slept like the dead with ds (10 hours every night) ... his sleep was crapolla. Remains so - therefore didn't sleep well with dd - who's a much better sleeper (although not great in anyone else's book)
Sorry!

That actually makes me feel much better, funnypeculiar! For obvious reasons, I want the first theory to be true, and the second to be a pile of cr*p!

Slept like a dream with DS1 - turned out to be one of the most appalling sleepers I've ever met (until we cracked it at 6 months).

DS2 - slept reasonably well - he's a good sleeper.

This time round - sleep......what's that??? Would that be the waking every 2hrs I do....and that's before he's even been born LOL.

Sorry Corriedale - hadn't read OP properly ... glad to have given the right answer
If you do find the answer, do let me know!

Have twins (9 m), one is a great sleeper and one terrible. Spent the 1st 4 months of pregnancy sleeping constantly and 2nd half didn't sleep at all! Follow the same routine for them both and think it just comes down to individual children and their characters.
