He has always taken a while to settle when in his cot, but was quite happy on his own and would just sing or chat for 30mins to an hr and then fall asleep. we moved him to a bed(same room) on sun and the first night he was in and out of bed till 10.30 when he finally fell asleep in bed, and last night we left him to play in his room ( in the dark) and he fell asleep onthe floor at 9. Is this ok, should we be returning him to bed each time he gets out?, this seems to become a game and winds him up evenmore, once hes asleep he stays asleep all night and so far has stayed in bed until we go in at 7 in the morning.
Sorry for the ramble, just worried what others thought

have you got a bedguard? i had one with my 2 dds and they didnt get up once id put them in bed...i think they didnt realise they could...maybe its too late for you to try that...i dont think there is any harm in leaving him to sleep on the floor...

yes we have a bed guard , but he learnt in about 2 seconds to wriggle down the bed and off the end, maybe i could put a bed guard on the end! but i suppose that would just be another cot!

just tell yourself its a phase that he will get bored of
(then move onto something else that will annoy you equally as much )

DD went through a phase of getting out, playing and falling asleep on the (wooden)bedroom floor. I used to pick her up and pop her back in at my bedtime so she'd wake up in her bed.
I don't see this a problem as long as the room is fully toddler proofed.
