DS2 started climbing out of his cot and shimmying across the window ledge before climbing down an unused but still connected gas fire. Decided that i wasn't having that and took his cot side off. Trouble is, he shares a room with DS1. 1st night was as bad as we expected, last night was Hell. It was 11:45 before they settled enough to go to sleep. DS2 did his usual cry at 4ish coz he had lost his comfort bunny and they were up for the day at 7.

They have been little sh*ts today because of tiredness and are still awake.....and i am tored....and i have ironing to do....and i need to pack for DP going away....HEEEEELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

oh mumofmonsters, we had something similar with DS1 - at lunchtime nap all was quiet, and our neighbour came round to say DS was on the window sill - luckily not the one that had the wide open window 1 storey up. Cue frantic charging up the stairs... After that, he'd be on the window sill every morning in his nappy waving at the neighbours. Did fall off a couple of times. If it's any consolation, he did get bored with it, esp when we refused to rise to the bait... but that window is now firmly locked, never to be unlocked again.

Will moving him from his cot help? DS was in a bed when he did this.. Is it that he's trying to get out of the cot, or is it just a really entertaining manouvre to do?

Whatever you do, don't go in now it's quiet!! Even if they aren't asleep, you can believe that they are...

we haven;t ordered the bunks yet (not enough money at mo) but have taken off the side of the cot and replaced it with a bed bumper that doesn't go all the way across. we figured that if he was so desperate to get out that hewould climb on the windowsill then he could get out this way instead. I just did a sneaky peek (with a mirror in the crack of the door like a spy lol! DS1 asleep and DS2 in the process of climbing back in
