Bed time routine night 1 - fingers crossed

After attending a local baby massage course I thought I would give puttingvthe 'proper' bed time routine in place for my 10 week old. Up until now, we had a sort of routine where his bed time feed was 7pm but then kept him in his Moses basket downstairs with us, he would fall asleep on dad about 8pm and I would go to bed at 9 and take him up with me.
Our first attempt at a proper bed time routine has looked like this,
6.30 - Took LO upstairs into quiet environment, baby soothing music playing.
massage and changed for bed.
(Will include bath when bath night).
7pm - feed and burped
Followed by bed time story
7.30 - bed
He went straight down.
It was nice having a couple of hours to self, but I kept listening to the monitor to make sure he was still breathing and checking on him every two minutes.
So far, so good.
Fingers crossed.

I thought all sleeps were supposed to be in the same room until 6 months to help prevent sids?

Yes, SIDS guidelines say baby should be in a room with a career for all sleeps. Sounds like a lovely routine but I'd put him in the Moses basket with you downstairs x

Lovely Op and well done

Had a similar routine really early with dd. Just kept monitor downstairs and popped up regularly to check.

Enjoy your eve

Having a bedtime routine in place early is definitely a good thing, I think. But I would put baby to sleep downstairs with the adults after the routines. This should be until 6 months for SIDS recommendations. But at the very least I would stay in the same room as sleeping baby until 4 months old when the peak age for SIDS deaths has passed.
