Bedtime routine with 3 yr old and 4 month old

Struggling to find a bedtime routine that works for us. I have a three year old and a four month old. 3yo routine has always been tea about 5 (she takes ages eating), bath just gone 6, 2 stories and bed for 7. The 4mo gets super grumpy by bedtime. Ideally I think he may need his bedtime to be 6ish but I'm having trouble coordinating everything. At the moment he is a right grump while we're eating tea, we will all have a bath together (where he is super happy) then he is too tired I think to be left on his own(he'll scream) while I get the big one ready for bed. Tried feeding while reading stories but he'll stop and listen and then be grumpy again. Feel like neither are getting a nice calm bedtime routine at the moment. Would love to hear some ideas/ examples of bedtime routines that work.

At 4 months mine used to nap in the bouncer while i cooked dinner and we ate.

He cries in the bouncer nowadays 👎 Might give it a go again though so he'll have a late nap like that and maybe he will be happy for the bedtime bit

I've yet to solve this (with a 2.5 yr old and 6 month old) but would the baby sleep in the sling or buggy whilst you do dinner?

Yeah he might sleep in the sling.
