Hi, my daughter is 10 months old today and has been an absolute angel and slept through the night for a long time now but for the last 5 nights she has woken up crying/sobbing. She rolls over in her cot, crawls around and pulls herself up and stands at the end of the cot crying/sobbing. Eventually (seems like forever) she crys herself to sleep and ends up sleeping on her belly, which she has never done before. I really don't know what to do, if I let her cry I feel bad and worry that she has hurt herself and if I go in there she stops. I have have given her a bottle and made a point of not speaking to her, but this doesnt seem to make any difference either. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do ?

Sounds to me like separation anxiety. I would go in after 2 mins, 5 mins, 7 mins, etc and not put on the light or look her in the eye or lift her and give her a cuddle. I would lay her down, put the blanket on her, rub her back a little and then leave. She just needs reassurance that although you are away from her, you are still there if you see what I mean. They all go through this.

personally I would go in and comfort her. could she be teething and waking up in pain?
I would just try and settle her back down and shush her to sleep with as little fuss as possible. she'll stop soon enough i'm sure
