Hi everyone, my DC is 12 weeks and for the past three nights has really gone backwards in terms of sleep waking every few hours. I know 12 weeks is a time of growth spurts and leaps but it's just made me think about my 'routine' and what I'm doing in the build up to bedtime. I'm a FTM so not sure if I could be/should be doing anything that night make bedtimes and nights more successful. I use the word 'routine' loosely. I know that all babies are different as is every day. I just mean on a normal sort of day what do you do?
My LO is EBF. She wakes around 7 then it's up, nappy change, feed, play for around 45 mins then she usually goes back down for a nap. Her naps are usually around 40-45 mins. Then I try to repeat that cycle throughout the day. As we get into the afternoon, it's increasingly difficult to get her to nap. She ends up having very unsettled evenings. I've posted before about colic and how my husband and I never ever get to have an evening. So last night, we did bath at 6:45, massage then went up to bed at 8. She fed then went down in her own crib next to our bed for 9. Her last feeds aren't always that productive. I'm just curious to know what your 'typical day' is like, especially what your evenings look like. Thank you.

How are you doing Intotheforest? Hope tonight/last night less painful and that you got some sleep. We had such terrible crying tonight, the poor little thing was shaking and shuddering in my arms SadShe's asleep now. Hope we all get a few hours in a row tonight ...

Thanks everyone for the advive. Catlady I'll look into the colic calm. Rebecca last night wasn't too bad. I took her out for a walk in her pram at half five where she had a nap then when we got home did change, feed, bath, story all with only a little crying in the bath part. Then I put on some soft music and cuddled her in and with a little battle got her off to sleep. With the music still playing, I watched about half an hour of tv then she woke up and had a little bit more of a cry so I did change, final feed then bed. She was in her bed and asleep by around 9:40. She still went on to wake every 3 hours which isn't too bad but it's been a lot better. It's only been like that for this week. She was doing 4/5 hour stretches. Been wondering if it's because her last feeds haven't been as productive? She doesn't seem to feed for very long. How old is your LO? Really feel for you. That type of crying is so stressful for you all. X

Hi, can't write much now but we had an almost identical evening and night to you - down to pram walk, less feeding and shorter sleeps! My DD is 12 weeks tomorrow. Maybe it's this age.
I've just been watching a horror film on TV with curtain closed to try and extend her nap - bad idea!!
