Has anyone else seen the article about the lush sleepy body lotion?! A mum claims it helps her daughter sleep through! Up to 14 hours! I might try it on my 8 month old ds. Thoughts?!!

Hi! I've just ordered some after reading about it and desperately wanting some sleep! It sounds lovely anyway so I think I'll use it in me and baby. I called the store and they said it's suitable for babies (mines 6 months)!

alittlepieceofme · 16/08/2017 19:03

I think I'm going to have to give it a go! Thanks for feedback everyone! Smile

@LiquorsOnDeck how did you get on with the lotion?

TheSleeperandTheSpindle · 19/08/2017 20:26

I'm trying it on my 9.5mth DS tonight. He only went down at 7.30pm so no idea so far if it will work but DH and I were very sleepy after using it on DS! Grin

Will update in the morning when I will hopefully have slept for more than 3 hours Hmm

LiquorsOnDeck · 19/08/2017 21:09

@timepasses worked well now for 3 nights in a row. She's sleeping much better and later in the morning

TheSleeperandTheSpindle · 20/08/2017 07:16

Mixed review this morning.

DS went down at 7.30pm and we didn't hear anything until 10.30pm. He then woke up with a really gurgly tummy. He was crying but still seemed asleep! He had his usual bottle at 11pm and went back down but was up again at midnight. I think something else was wrong with him because it wasn't his usual cry. He ended up in bed with us and slept until 6.30am but it's hard to know how effective the lotion was. I can still smell it on him this morning though!

Will definitely give it another go tonight.

I think this sleepy lotion might actually have a ring of truth about it.....

DS asleep by 7pm last night. Woke at 11pm for a feed but didn't cry out, just wiggled about in cot and calmly fed. Straight back to sleep. Woke at 2am and again was just wriggly and rocking on all fours. Took him into my bed because I'm lazy I wanted to get back to sleep and he slept until 6am.

Last night was the best night we've had since moving DS into his own room and all seemed a lot calmer. Could be that he is getting used to his room or could be the lotion......

Mines arrived!! Can't wait to try it this evening and report back in the morning

SBSparkles · 21/08/2017 14:32

Mine has arrived today as well!! Excited to use it tonight!

crazycatlady5 · 21/08/2017 17:12

I am following this thread with interest! Please tell me how everyone else gets on! I went to buy some instore today and they laughed (politely) and said they're out of stock. I had a vision of hoards of sleep deprived mum's queuing at the door every day!

RedBlu · 21/08/2017 19:53

We got some the other week, more for me but it's now being used by my partner and our daughter who is 12 weeks (only use a tiny bit on her and she is fine with it) and we have definitely found it works for all of us!

Me and my partner have been sleeping far better and having better quality sleep and our DD has been sleeping far better overnight as well.

I like it, it's earthy but also has a sweet scent. Going to try and get some more at some point

SBSparkles · 22/08/2017 06:43

Ughhh ace absolutely no difference at all! I don't think the smell was very 'sleepy' at all! I thought it was really sickly sweet! So disappointed...

christmasunicorn · 22/08/2017 07:03

After my 5.40am start to the day I can definitely say that it didn't much work. Ds has never got up that early, it's usually 6.30-7. And I was still up at 12.30 and 3am 😴

EbBb1991 · 24/08/2017 21:55

I have used it for three nights and DS has not slept better st all. Still up 5 times 😴

christmasunicorn · 24/08/2017 21:58

Yeah I can't say it works on ds at all Sad and dh says it does nothing for him either.
Me on the other hand, well I've never slept so good! Honestly I fall asleep so quickly and have really deep sleep. Still getting up 3x a night for ds but when I'm asleep, I'm really asleep. And waking up refreshed.
Plus I smell amazing WinkGrin

LillyLollyLandy · 24/08/2017 22:16

I've tried it on my 5 yo, 3 yo and 7 month old.

7 month old - Fail. This is possibly because she's teething tho
3 year old - success
5 year old - success

I apply it after a bath and before pjs go on, up in their bedroom. I make it into a sort of massage routine so they get relaxed and drowsy. Seems to work so far!

Ipitythescale · 20/09/2017 20:43

I've just tried it for myself. I find that I take ages to fall asleep normally and toss and turn through the night. Used it the last 2 nights and have fallen asleep quickly, slept straight through and woke up feeling very rested. Just put it on now and feel sleepy already. Love the twilight stuff from Lush too.

ForgetAboutSleep · 21/09/2017 13:07

Lush have said that it shouldn't be used on babies under 6 months... DS turned 6 months last week so I'm off out to buy some Grin.

KP1986 · 25/09/2017 20:47

Hi I'm sorry to ask this a little late after conversations have started. However is this product safe on 6 month olds and how much should you use? Has anyone else used on 6month old? Thank you

RKNasau · 30/01/2020 02:04

Hiya,

I have an 10 month old son and just lately his sleeping pattern went out the gate and now he doesn't even like sleeping during the day and even doesn't sleep during the night. I'm just trying to reach out to the mothers that bought the sleepy body lotion, did it work for your little ones? Were they able to sleep through the night without waking?

Just curious because I really wanna try it out.
