Who's baby sleeps through?

Does anyone's little ones sleep through the night?
I breastfeed my 4 month old and we also cosleep. When she was around 3 months she'd sometimes sleep from 10pm till 7 in the morning have a feed and then go back to sleep. Now she wakes up a lot during the night, sometimes just for me to pop her dummy back in other times for feeds (sometimes up to 3 feeds) she also wakes early, stays awake for an hour or so then has another nap.
Could keeping her awake more during the day help at all? She sleeps a lot in the day but if she doesn't she gets grumpy or just falls asleep as she can't keep her eyes open.

This sounds like the 4 month sleep regression, have a look into it. I had an awful week at 5 months where she woke every 45 minutes, I was like a zombie. But she's a bit better now although not sleeping through. I think baby's sleep patterns change a lot in the first year so what is happening one month might not necessarily happen the next x

Oh and keeping her awake in the day is a big no no. Sleep begets sleep as they say, and developmentally baby's need to sleep in the day, usually at 4 months is say every 1.5-2 hours.

Actually, it sounds to me like she's getting ready for solids. I see you're bf, but maybe try her with a formula bottle at night? She sounds hungry.

At that age sleep is to do with the brain, not the stomach. Solids and using a bottle=not a magic bullet in my experience.

I'm not to keen on giving her formula, I have nothing against it :) but she's often very windy etc and I wouldn't want to suddenly give her a different type of milk incase it effects her belly x

No, the opposite in fact. More sleep issues are caused by over tiredness. Try to limit awake time to about 90 minutes.

Sorry to PP but it's a massive myth that sleep is anything to do with being too hungry. Night feedings at this age are very important so trying to 'fill up' baby isn't the best course of action. Honestly I would ride it out, things will improve over time.

My DS woke every 3 hours until 18 months. He then just suddenly seemed to settle and now only wakes once for his dummy and back to sleep.

4 month sleep regression. It lasted 3 months for us.
Ds slept like yours till he was 10 weeks, he would cosleep and bf and wake maybe once a night
At 15 weeks he started waking every 1-2 hours all night. It literally broke me. I tried formula which didn't work at all and made me feel guilty that I'd given in to pressure from everyone telling me "the poor kid was starving".
My advise would be as tough as it is, ride it out. Everyone told me it wouldn't last for ever and theye were right.
At 6 months things did improve and we moved him to his own room which seemed to help him not be as disturbed by us too.

By 7 months he was doing a lot better and waking once.

At 8-9 months he started sleeping through 7.30pm till 7am and now, at 18 months he still is.

Your baby will have a very busy mind at the moment and will be trying to process everything. This will pass, and as they get more active they tend to tire themselves out too.
I do feel for you as I remember it like it was yesterday, I was utterly exhausted
