6 month old will only nap in her bed

My DD is 6 months old and up until a couple of weeks ago would sleep in her car seat or pushchair, now though even when she is really tired and we are out she really struggles to go to sleep and just gets really upset.
If we are at home she naps really well ok her cot and when we have been out and she is really tired once we get home, she will pretty much go to sleep as soon as I put her in her cot.

She has a comforter when she goes to sleep and also sucks her thumb but even with her comforter she doesn't want to sleep when we are out, so just gets really really upset.

I'm a first time mum and just not sure what to try. It's making it hard for us to be out long because we try but even we when do it's upsetting for both of us.

It has been worse this week as she has been really tired this week, wanting to sleep after being awake a couple of hours, I think she might be going through a growth spurt or something?

I'm afraid this is very normal.
I would do less and enjoy not having to walk a push chair every day for a nap like some mums .
Go out during awake times . Home for naps .
If visiting someone. Do you have a travel cot to use ?

Yep. Being a slave to naptime is the life of parent of a preschooler.

It'll last around 3 years or so, so get used to it.

You usually have much better naps in the cot, as child gets older. It is just a case of arranging life around that.

It gets easier on one nap days .

My life right now .
9-12 pm out some where to tire 16 month dd out .
Home for lunch at 12. 12:30-1 wind down before nap.
She does 1-3 pm but lately her naps have gone a bit dodgy again .
Then either a short walk before dinner or mostly we just play in doors of an afternoon
